347-cold-rolled-stainless-steel-coil is an austenitic rolled coil stainless steel that is stablizied by the presence of niobium and tantalum. Combined, the niobium (columbium) and tantalum content are ten times greater than the carbon content present. Similar to Type 321, 347-cold-rolled-stainless-steel-coil has excellent creep-resistant properties, as well as high-stress rupture properties.

347-cold-rolled-stainless-steel-coil are stabilized stainless by the addition of columbium and tantalum which offer as their main advantage an excellent resistance to intergranular corrosion following exposure to temperatures in the chromium carbide precipitation range from 800 to 1500°F (427 to 816°C). This results in higher elevated temperature allowable stresses for these stabilized alloys for ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code applications.
